EVA Air’s in-flight entertainment system is set for a significant upgrade, with a planned launch in the first quarter of 2026. The airline will be introducing the Arc™ 3D flight map software, provided by Panasonic Avionics, a leading name in in-flight entertainment systems. This new flight map boasts a substantial enhancement in visual fidelity, offering not only more refined graphics but also a host of new, practical features. Passengers will be able to explore information on tourist attractions in cities along the route, and there’s even a special exploration mode designed for children, adding an element of fun to the flight experience.
Currently, EVA Air’s active fleet of Boeing 787 and Boeing 777-300ER aircraft will undergo phased software upgrades. Meanwhile, the upcoming Airbus A350-1000 new passenger jets (as well as subsequent 787 deliveries) will come pre-installed with this latest flight map software. In the future, passengers flying with EVA Air will be able to enjoy this brand-new in-flight map service while soaring through the skies.
- New Aircraft Deliveries: Newly acquired aircraft will be equipped with this system directly.
- Existing 777 Fleet: Aircraft currently using the EX3 system will be upgraded via software updates.
- Existing 787 Fleet: Aircraft using the NEXT / EX3 system will also receive software updates to incorporate this feature.
- Cabin Refurbishment & New Aircraft: Future cabin retrofits for the 777 and newly introduced A350s will feature the latest Astrova hardware system.
Multiple Realistic Perspectives

EVA Air has recently integrated the latest version of Panasonic Avionics’ Arc™ 3D flight map, offering passengers an entirely new way to experience flight information. This new interface is highlighted by three key features: high-resolution 3D visuals, smooth operation, and in-depth interactive capabilities. Passengers can switch between over 15 different viewing angles, from an external view, overhead perspective, or a chase view, to even a simulated cockpit vista. Each offers a rich sensory experience, providing a more immersive journey as passengers traverse the skies. Additionally, this update includes street-level maps for specific cities, clearly displaying information on local tourist attractions. Passengers can easily tap on destinations of interest, which not only sparks inspiration for their itineraries but also helps them discover renowned travel hotspots.

Kids’ Exploration Mode
EVA Air has integrated the latest version of Panasonic Avionics’ Arc™ 3D flight map, featuring a standout exclusive function tailored for family travel: Kids’ Exploration Mode (Arc for Young Explorers). This mode cleverly combines an engaging dinosaur theme with real-time flight data, allowing children to follow the path of a Pterodactyl along the aircraft’s flight route to the destination. During the journey, the screen transforms into a prehistoric museum. As the plane flies over specific regions, dinosaurs that once inhabited the area appear on screen. Through lively animated explanations, children can learn about the characteristics, lifestyles, and related knowledge of these ancient creatures, adding both fun and educational value to the flight. This creates an immersive, entertaining, and educational environment for both parents and children.

Arc Vistas Flight Screensaver

EVA Air has recently introduced the latest version of Panasonic Avionics’ Arc™ 3D flight map software service, bringing several highlights to passengers’ flight experience. One particularly noteworthy feature is the Arc Vistas flight screensaver, which presents flight scenery with cinematic visual effects, allowing passengers to enjoy a more comfortable and relaxing sensory experience while staying informed about their flight’s progress.
By implementing this service, EVA Air not only becomes Panasonic Avionics’ largest customer in Asia in terms of order volume but also solidifies its position as a leading airline in the region for adopting this advanced technology. EVA Air has stated its commitment to continuously optimizing in-flight entertainment content and service quality, aiming to provide a richer and more diverse entertainment selection for passengers during their journey.
